Trades and transactions

Fixes for a trade or transaction that failed, reverted, or isn't behaving the way you expected.

My trade failed or reverted

This almost always means either the executed price moved past your slippage tolerance, or the pool didn't have enough liquidity for the size you tried to trade. Try a slightly higher slippage tolerance, a smaller order, or a higher-liquidity pool. See Trading and Aero for Traders.

The amount I received doesn't match the quote I saw

The quote is a snapshot; the price can move before your transaction lands. Your slippage tolerance sets how much movement you'll accept. If the price would move past it, the trade cancels instead of filling at a worse rate. Smaller trades and a realistic tolerance make execution more predictable. See Trading and the Crypto fundamentals FAQ.

My transaction has been pending for a while

Gas rises when the network is busy and falls when it's quiet, so confirmation time varies with conditions. Give it a few minutes before assuming it's stuck; if your wallet supports it, you can typically speed up or cancel a pending transaction from there. See the Crypto fundamentals FAQ.

I'm being asked to approve a token before my trade or deposit can go through

A one-time approval transaction is normal the first time you trade or deposit a given token. It's separate from the trade or deposit transaction itself. Confirm the approval, then retry the action; if the approval transaction itself fails, check that you have enough of the network's gas token and try again. To review or revoke an approval you've already granted, or if a request asks for more than the action needs, see Wallet and connection.

My cross-network trade finished but I don't see the output

The output of a cross-network trade lands on the destination network, not the one you started from, so it won't appear until the app and your wallet are both reading that network. Switch to the destination network and check again; if the token still isn't listed, add it to your wallet by its contract address on that network. For balances missing for any other reason, see Wallet and connection. See also Metaswaps.
